PLACEMENT POLICY & PROCESS


The Hospital, Health and Health Information Technology sectors have emerged as new avenues for the employment of management professionals. Corporate, public sector hospitals, international, bilateral and national health care organizations and International organizations of Information Technologies and Health Insurance companies are looking for qualified health care managers. The course prepares graduates for exciting careers in such organizations. IIHMR Student Placement Cell consists of elected student representatives, faculty advisors and officer in - charge.

Norms for the Employers

For scheduling the arrival of Companies/Organizations, the following information is required prior to their arrival:

  • Number of students intended to be recruited by the company
  • Designation, Job Description and proposed location(s) of the positions offered
  • Declaration of proposed CTC
  • Confirmation of campus visit and preferred dates
  • If an organization desires to conduct ‘off-campus’ selection, it can be done and the organization is required to inform the Placement Cell about it at least 15 days in advance
  • Curriculum Vitae of all the listed applicants will be forwarded to the organizations, if desired, before their campus visit
  • Organizations are requested to confirm the final selection of the students with names, while on the campus after the Interview

Norms for Students Participating in Placements

All the students who are expected to be graduated from the Institute every year are eligible to participate in the Placement Activities. A student can participate in the recruitment process of a company subject to the following conditions:

  • The placement cell has confirmed his/her registration
  • S/he meets the specific requirements of the company
  • S/he has not yet accepted an offer from any other company
  • S/he cleared institute norms for placement

 

Non - acceptance of an Offer

  • Once a student decides to participate in the process of a company s/he cannot abandon it midway. If done so, it would be considered equivalent to the non acceptance of an offer
  • Non-acceptance of more than one offer would prevent the student from participating in the further placement process any further. Student once selected for an organization cannot opt for any other interview.

Offer of a job

  • A student will be considered to have been offered a job if his or her name appears in the list of successful candidates declared by the hiring organization after the selection process
  • The company should provide job offers to the placement cell and not to students directly
  • When the placement cell receives an offer from a company for a student it would communicate the same to him/her in writing
  • While communicating the offer, the placement cell would also indicate the deadline within which the student will have to inform the cell about his/her decision on the offer. If a student fails to do so, it will be assumed that the offer has been rejected by him or her
